Vision

The vision of the Gordian Fund is to maintain a membership with continuous commitment to philanthropy and a self-sustaining fund that leverages individual contributions.

We believe in cultivating habits of giving among young donors, providing them with education and encouragement to become lifelong philanthropists. 

 

Membership Requirements

á       Commitment to a five-year giving cycle (as elaborated below)

á       Commitment to participate in the Fund

á       Commitment to contribute to grants decisions

á       Commitment to increasing Fund membership

 

Giving Structure

Five-year cycles, with the following levels:

            Platinum                       $5,000

            Gold                            $2,500

            Silver                            $1,000

            Copper                         $500

            Minimum opening gift $50

            Average annual gift        10% of total

 

Management Strategy

Upon inception, the Gordian Fund will be managed internally by the Directors, a board of eighteen young professionals, with an independent investment manager and board of consulting advisors.

 

Grantmaking Process

á       All members can nominate organizations in line with focus areas

á       All members review organizations in three-part process, including final grant decision

á       All members have equal voting power, and all members vote on final set of recommendations

á       Grant budget will be $1,000 in 2008 and 50% of total assets annually thereafter
