The Gordian Fund began as an idea in 2005, as the problem of youth philanthropy became evident to the founders.  After two years of discussion, research and networking, the founding board first met on March 31, 2007.   

October 27, 2007 :: The Gordian Fund is incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Colorado. 

October 27, 2007 :: The Board approves the Fund’s bylaws. 

February 9, 2008 :: The Fund receives its first donations, as the Board gives its year-one gifts. 

February 29, 2008 :: The Fund submits its application to the Internal Revenue Service for tax-exempt status.

September 24, 2008 :: The Fund receives its determination letter, certifying its tax exemption.

January 24, 2009 :: The Fund conducts its first Annual Meeting, where the first grant is given to Colorado Youth at Risk and new board members are elected.
